Y S Rajashekar Reddy, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, has asked his chief secretary to review all Maytas projects in the state and the grounds on which they were given.

Remember Reddy is the one who had given clean chit to Satyam when world been scared and skeptical. When Metro man E Sreedharan called foul over awarding contract to Myatas to build Hyderabad Metro rail, the CM had ridiculed him while the government threatened him of defamation suit. Sreedharan had termed it as a scandalous real estate deal....

The public anger against the toll on NICE peripheral and link roads is understandable. It is pinching when the recession is hitting. Rs. 2.5 per km is expensive even for the rich in any standard.

But, Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE) can any way help? The promoter can make the road affordable for the users only at the cost of its profit that is not defendable. Allowing business houses to bleed would lead to economic disaster pulling economy to hit the rock bottom.

Don’t feed poor robbing rich because rich also become poor leaving nobody to rob further. This is the lesson we learnt from the mistakes we committed in the socialist era.

But, Muntazer al-Zaidi is a reporter attending the press conference. A position of a reporter calls for a cruel objectiveness no matter how strong your emotions are attacked. Otherwise, you are not only betraying your job but also imparting injustice to your readers, whose right is to have naked information drawing inference there after....

   War on terror [11/12 08:05PM]

On a right note the Indian policy makers have sent a clear message that India is not war hungry.

Taking on terror, on the floor of the parliament, the leaders were not rhetoric while sounded sensible. Minister for External affairs Pranab Mukarji said war against Pakistan was not the option that India was looking at. Home Minister P Chidambaram  looked credible when he candidly admitted the intelligence failure and security lapse. Prime minister seemed honest when he appologised. Opposition Leader L K Advani won hearts by expressing solidarity to the ruling party, not indulging in political bashing. ...

Thanks to recession prices have come down.

A car is affordable, as both purchase and fuel cost have slid. A house is not as expensive as it was six months ago. A five star hotel room is not so costly and even flying is poised be cheaper.

What else one wants to enjoy life?

Everything is ok, alas! where is the money?

When the prices are traveling southwards, people are not able to catch up because their salaries and perks have been drastically cut that is also fallout of the recession. A few who have a little money have turned extremely cautious, as they have to save for rainy days. ...
